Party Party

Ruby D's birthday party was on Sunday afternoon. Yeah! I finished everything right before our first guests arrived. Gracie was very excited, but watching Ruby open presents was a little difficult for her. It's hard not being the birthday girl. She perked right up when it was time for the pinata though. We also had a few fireworks, and Andrew rigged our slide to be a water slide for Gracie and her cousins. Apparently we know how to party at our house. Ruby D stayed inside (I don't blame her-it was HOT) and played with her new toys. She started to get very tired, but Miss Party Girl couldn't sleep while people were there. After everyone left and I cleaned the kitchen (but not the living room; I'm going to have to go through the girls toys to make room for new tonight) she finally settled down and went to sleep. Gracie was out relatively quickly; it was Country Gold night, and she always tries to stay awake to listen to that. Today Ruby keeps hugging her babies and saying, "baby, baby doll, doll, BABY!" She's so cute (and smart). But she needs to stop growing so quickly.
Dessert buffet. Rainbow sherbet punch, fruit kabobs with dip, rainbow cupcakes, chocolate covered Oreos, and chocolate dipped pretzel sticks.
Ruby D's smash cake, pinata, and display of her one year pictures.
She actually was not a big fan of her cake and whined at me when I put her hands in it. Apparently bakery cake with purple frosting is superior. She did eat a few strawberries and lick the frosting off her fingers. She is smiling, because she was telling me, "No, no, no." She wanted her cake that evening when "we" were cleaning the kitchen. She reached out and grabbed a handful from the counter. My silly baby.

Holding her baby dolls. She loved all of her presents, but her favorites are babies and stuffed animals. She also was very interested in the shoes we got her and her vegetable pot from Mimi and Papa.

My tired baby. Last picture I took of the party.
